Fall Bonfire
This family-friendly community event, which aims to promote fun and fellowship, is held on a Saturday evening during the month of October each year at Ipe Field on Midlothian Blvd. (Behind Fire Station #9)
Hot cocoa, apple cider, cookies, donuts and other refreshments are available for purchase at the Snack Tent. We also sell tickets for a 50/50 drawing.
Music provided by DJ JZ will include old favorites for those who like to sing-along so if you want to enjoy a relaxing evening of fun, laughter, and music, you are invited to bring something to sit on (blanket or lawn chairs) and bask in the warmth of our bonfire.
Scavenger Hunt for Group Projects
In October, 2025, the Coalition invited members to participate in a Scavenger Hunt to find all of the 7th Ward Neighborhood Improvements Projects made possible with ARP funds. The only clue given was a chart listing neighborhood groups who had completed a project, the title of their project, and the funds allocated for their project. Scavenger Hunt participants were encouraged to have fun - the only "rule" was to submit a photo (selfie or otherwise) as proof they visited each site. Below are our winners.

Thanksgiving Baskets Food Drive
This annual tradition aims to support 7th Ward families in need of essential groceries for a traditional holiday meal while building a stronger, more compassionate community.
Each "basket" contains a turkey and all the fixings a family would need for a Thanksgiving Dinner. Our generous members donate canned goods, non-perishable items, and money for the committee to purchase fresh goods and whatever else is needed. Items are sorted and packed into sturdy bags. To ensure an even distribution across the ward, we ask each neighborhood group to select a family in their area to receive a basket. Names are not disclosed. Each group sends a volunteer to pick up and deliver the basket.
A special THANK YOU to all who donate and/or volunteer. Your generosity means so much.
